H.H. Sheikh Engr. Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah (RAKDCA), keynote address at the Ras Al-Khaimah Investment and Trade Summit 2024 (RAKIS 2024)
“Propelling Ras Al Khaimah as an investment
powerhouse” was the theme at the Ras Al Khaimah Investment and Trade Summit
2024 (RAKIS 2024), which was held on 10th December 2024 in Ras Al Khaimah. Many government departments and investment groups
participated in this all important conference and exhibition.
His Highness, Sheikh
Engr. Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation &
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and board member of General Civil Aviation
Authority, expressed his delight at such a significant conference and
exhibition being held in Ras Al Khaimah, which speaks so aptly about the phenomenal
development taking place in this beautiful emirate.
H.H. in his
keynote speech addressed the strategic priority sectors in Ras Al Khaimah for capital deployment and growth, where he
pointed out the diligent work of the government in attracting investors to
build hotel projects, setup businesses and increase the number of tourists’
year on year. He also mentioned that by 2030 more than 3 million tourists will
be enjoying the tourist attractions in Ras Al Khaimah.
H.H. cited that with the entry of Wynn Resorts, several new hotels
and a growing aviation industry, Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al
Khaimah International Airport development is one of the core investments, as it drives
growth of the economy, tourism and business investors.
H.H. also stated,
that, through the emirate it is possible to
reach a third of the world’s population within a 4-hour flight, making it an
ideal destination for vacationing, investing, living and working. With air carriers like Air Arabia, GoIndigo, Air India
Express, and European charters like Azur Air from Russia, Centrum
Air from Uzbekistan, Smart Wings, Ural Airlines and S7 Airlines, tourism and
investments in Ras Al Khaimah are being enhanced
exponentially.
In his closing
remarks, H.H. concluded that, Ras Al Khaimah’s potential and growth are
unparalleled, with concentration being on core businesses and making sure that
capital deployment and growth are carefully balanced for many decades to come.
