Ambassador & Consul General Of Republic Of Singapore Meeting With Chairman, Department Of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah
Mr. Kamal R Vaswani, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the
UAE and Mr. Raziff Aljunied, Consul General
of the Republic of Singapore to the UAE, paid a visit to H.E. Engr. Sheikh Salem Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the
Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, board
member of General Civil Aviation Authority & Ras Al Khaimah Executive
Council at his office today at the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah.
The dignitaries
exchanged pleasantries and discussed bilateral relations and business expansion
between Singapore and Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah. Singapore is famous for being a global
financial center with spectacular connections into the Asian markets by land, sea and
air as well as one of the top tourist destinations in the world. With such
similarities between UAE and Singapore, the two nations complement each other’s
strengths and influences.
“Attracting
investors, trade and tourism are the fundamental objectives of Ras Al Khaimah. As
a civil aviation and a gateway to the emirate, we are conscious of the fact
that we have a massive contributory role in these goals. Therefore, we can
count on an exemplary spirit of cooperation and collaboration in the promotion
of aviation safety, security, environment protection, technical programs, new
technologies, efficient management and infrastructure development”. Chairman-
Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah stated.
H.E.
also quantified the importance of environment protection and reduction of
carbon footprint within the aviation industry.
“Through the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for
International Aviation which is commonly known as CORSIA has been working
diligently for the reduction of CO2 emissions by 50% by 2050. This will require
new technologies that can balance economic
growth and reduction of climate impact for now and the future”. H.E. also
said.
Finally, their Excellencies exchanged mementos
and gifts. Chairman- Department of Civil
Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah expressed gratitude
and praised both the ambassador and the consul general for their developmental
progression between the two countries.
