The Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah organized the first innovation competition 2021 awarding ceremony for the month of February, which is UAE innovation month.
The virtual event saw almost 40 attendees from all government departments, colleges, universities and independent persons, who also took an enthusiastic part in submitting some unique and innovative ideas. A panel of judges evaluated 32 ideas and the top 3 were chosen for the awarding ceremony. A monetary prize was awarded to the top 3 ideas. All others were provided a participation certificate for their grand effort.
The top 3 ideas out of which the top prize went to “Touchless Automated Trolley” submitted by Ms. Ayesha Najeeb of Bolton University, 2nd prize went to “Obstacle Control” submitted by Mr. Venugopal Bhaskaran of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and the 3rd prize went to “Multi Task Radar System submitted by Mr. Mohammed Shan also from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.
H.E. Engr. Salem Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, board member of General Civil Aviation Authority & RAK Executive Council expressed his delight as he witnessed this enthusiastic ceremony virtually congratulating all participants for their ideas that will contribute immensely toward the future growth of UAE through innovation.

Innovation is simply a new idea or improving and enhancing the process of an existing one. Innovative skills will be the next most sought after talent by organizations that want to grow in to a vibrant future,” said H.E, Chairman RAKDCA.
