PIA INAUGURAL CEREMONY

The Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah is pleased to welcome Pakistan International Airlines to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport as of September 2021. The inaugural flight arrived from Islamabad, Pakistan. The direct flights are to 4 cities (Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan) in Pakistan.

Pakistan International Airlines is flying directly to Ras-al-Khaimah from Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan averaging 10 flights every week as of now. The aircraft used for this operation is B-777-200.

H.E. Engr. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, board member of General Civil Aviation Authority & RAK Executive Council expressed his pleasure as Pakistan is one of the largest markets for onward connections as well as a home away from home for a major resident population of UAE. This would emerge into a phenomenal success towards building passenger and cargo traffic in Ras Al Khaimah.

“We welcome our friends from Pakistan, especially, H.E. Hassan Afzal Khan, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai and Mr. Shahid Ali Moghul, Regional Manager, PIA, Dubai to partner with us in order to build an exciting opportunity for a solid passenger/cargo business between Pakistan and Ras Al Khaimah.

“We will do our utmost to ensure that the passengers are well cared for and provided a warm welcome on every flight. We will also work together to grow the perishable fruits, vegetables and meat markets from Pakistan to Ras Al Khaimah. This is particularly substantial, because we are venturing into the growing Asian markets and Pakistan is a major contributor to this development.

Ras Al Khaimah has been a destination of choice for the Pakistani residents of UAE, especially Ras Al Khaimah and a lucrative perishable cargo business for people for more than 4 decades.

Besides a pleasant reception, the passengers will also be provided with a PCR test at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport for absolutely no charge.

Once again, I take this opportunity to present my best wishes and look forward to building a long term association and partnership with Pakistan International Airlines and the people of Pakistan,” said H.E, Chairman RAKDCA
